OFTA’S ADVOCACY RESOURCES

OFTA offers a range of resources and tools to empower your advocacy for the arts. These include economic reports in collaboration with Americans for the Arts, the Arts Education Data Dashboard, candidate surveys, legislator look-up tools, and the Action Alert Center. Explore an overview of the resources below.

Data Driven Arts Advocacy Resources

OFTA is dedicated to providing data-driven advocacy tools for the arts community. In the absence of reliable data, decisions are often based on assumptions, speculation, or instinct, which can be false. By linking the arts to concrete data, we strengthen advocacy efforts to safeguard and expand the arts in Oklahoma. To support this mission, OFTA offers a variety of economic reports in collaboration with Americans for the Arts and the Arts Education Data Dashboard in partnership with the Arts Education Data Project.

Oklahoma’s Economy and the Arts

The Oklahoma Arts and Culture Industry generated $4.8 billion dollars and 42,292 jobs. The arts in Oklahoma is a strong economic driver that shapes our future by driving tourism, attracting businesses, and creating a sense of pride and place.

“Without data you’re just another person with an opinion.”

-W. Edwards Deming

Arts Education Data Dashboard

The Arts Education data from Oklahoma shows that there are 115,000+ students in Oklahoma without access to arts education. When comparing this data to surrounding states, we are falling behind. In Arkansas every student has access to arts education.

With just a few clicks, you can send a personalized message directly to your representatives, letting them know how important the arts are to you and your community. OFTA’s tool ensures your voice is heard on policies that shape the future of arts in Oklahoma.
